A Home Too Far

By James Tseng

Wind, too strong
Only for wiping away tears
Rain, too heavy
Only for washing away sorrows
Ranges, too immense
Only to hide the last escape
Rivers, too broad
Only to flood the broken bridges

Home, too far
Only because of time, of distance
Dreams, too long
Only to alleviate hopelessness, to evade danger
Deaths, too many
Only because of hatred, of survival
Love, too short
Only to part, to reminisce

Blood, soaking through this lifeless terra incognita
Eternity, flashing like a rainbow without colors

Home, too obscure
Home, too distant
Home, crying from the deepest of dream
A home too far.
